Problem solving is probably the single most important expert attribute that we expect all physical science graduates to master as part of their undergraduate training: solving problems lies at the heart of what it means to 'do' science.
A range of speakers including representation from the secondary sector will present their views and case studies of practices going on around the UK. the workshop is organised jointly by the IOP Higher Education Group (HEG) and the Physical Sciences Centre.
Attendees who are interested in contributing short case study presentations of current practices at their own institutions are invited to contact the organisers (Simon Bates, University of Edinburgh, s.p.bates@ed.ac.uk and Niels Walet, University of Manchester, niels.walet@manchester.ac.uk).
There is no registration fee for this meeting for those working in UK HE; lunch and refreshments will be provided.
