Description

This new initiative, launched by HEA Northern Ireland in the 2010-11 academic year, is aimed at encouraging the exchange and dissemination of good practice, at the discipline level, throughout the UK.

It is specifically aimed at enabling staff and students in HEIs in Northern Ireland to engage with colleagues from other parts of the UK and to support their institution's priorities and developments in learning and teaching. The initiative supports the following strategic aims of the HEA:

• Identify, develop and disseminate evidence-informed approaches;
• Broker and encourage the sharing of effective practice;
• Support universities and colleges in bringing about strategic change;
• Raise the status of teaching.

The funding may be used to help colleagues attend conferences, network meetings and special interest groups organised (or jointly organised) by the HEA and its Subject Centre network, that are being run in England, Scotland or Wales. Please note that funding may not be used for events that are being held in Northern Ireland or for events that are being held outside the UK.
