Enhancing Learning through Technology (ELT)

The use of technology is widespread in UK Higher Education and the Centre undertakes a range of activities to support academics who are interested in the use of technology to enhance the learning process. The Centre has produced several publications and resources on technology and has had several e-learning projects funded by the JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee).

e-Learning Projects

  • Employability project - a tool to develop employability skills for physical science students
  • e-Portfolio project - a framework to bring subject specificity to the use of e-portfolios
  • WebPA project - an electronic peer assessment tool
  • Question Bank project - a database of physical science questions which can be exported in different formats for use in a variety of assessment

e-Learning SIG

The Centre has an e-Learning Special Interest Group (SIG) to allow people to share ideas, resources and experiences in the development and use of e-learning.
