Personal Development Planning (PDP) has been defined as 'a structured and supported process undertaken by an individual to reflect upon their own learning, performance and/or achievement and to plan for their personal, educational and career development.' ('Higher Education in the Learning Society', known as the 'Dearing Report').
The Centre have produced a number of publications (see right) aimed at helping academics support PDP with their students.
There is a wide range of e-portfolio systems which are being used to support PDP (Personal Development Planning). The Centre has developing an e-Portfolio Framework which physical science departments can adopt using their own e-portfolios. The framework will provide students with a discpline based context for reflection as part of their PDP.
