Foundation Degrees

Foundation degrees are designed in partnership with employers and integrate academic with work-based learning to give students knowledge and skills relevant to their industry. Students may study full time (typically this would take two years) or choose to study part-time whilst in employment. To enable this, flexible attendance, distance learning or e-learning may be available. 

Foundation degrees

Foundation Degrees Forward, with which the Physical Sciences Centre has been involved, was launched in 2003 with the aim of supporting the development of high quality foundation degrees. As an organisation it works in partnership with all relevant agencies, institutions, organisations and interest groups to ensure that the development of Foundation degrees is driven by the needs of employers and students.
