This project is part the HEFCE funded Academy/JISC Open Educational Resources (OER) programme. Its goal has been to make a wide range of learning resources created by academics freely available, easily discovered and routinely re-used by both educators and learners.
Skills for Scientists has brought together chemistry, physics and astronomy, and forensic science departments from fifteen institutions to release a range of high quality teaching and learning materials (the equivalent of over 600 credits) with an 'open' license, which can be reused, and in most cases adapted, by anyone worldwide.
The STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) Subject Centres have collectively authored a set of documents giving practical advice on all matters related to OER. These can be found on the STEM OER Guidance wiki.
