Although most our efforts are directed towards supporting students through our support for academic staff, we do provide a number of resources and organise events specifically tailored for physical science undergraduates and postgraduates.

Postgraduate Demonstrators' Workshops

The Centre runs regular workshops for postgraduate research students who demonstrate in undergraduate laboratory classes. See our Events section for details of past and forthcoming workshops.

Higher Education Academy Student Award

Each year the Centre offers students the chance to submit a piece of work based on their thoughts and experiences in this national competition.

This year, students were asked to submit an entry in any format with the title:

   Imagine you are a lecturer for a day. How would you teach your students?

 

This year's winner is Paul Brack of Loughborough University who will receive £200 and has been invited to attend (all expenses paid) the Higher Education Academy's 2-day Annual Conference which will be held in Nottingham in July 2011.The runner-up is Calum Meredith of the University of Leicester who will receive £100.
