2010 - Loughborough University - Services Working Together to Improve Access to Student Services

  • Start date: 2010-03-01
  • Status: in progress
  • Funding Initiative: Change Academy

Through the Change Academy, Loughborough University wishes to take the next step in developing support services to enhance the highly regarded Loughborough Student Experience by creating a "one stop shop" approach to access to services to provide a better interface to student-related services. This will stop students having to understand their structures (an administrative convenience rather than necessarily how students perceive or wish to use the services) to use their services. The physical size of the campus and the spread of services across the campus makes this especially challenging.

To achieve this they will:

  • Build on their “Services Working Together” approach.
  • Learn from the experience of their operational services capability to deliver high level services for conferences & events, for sports development and for the support of their facilities.
  • Create a reduced number of student access (one stop shop) points for their services, complementing what they do virtually.
  • Take advantage of opportunities that may be presented by the University's capital programme to create one stop shops.

The scope will cover all services that touch on the student experience in some way, irrespective of where the services sit in their organisational structure.
