University College London, CPD4HE: Open Resources on HE Teaching and Learning

The project addresses the need to provide varied and flexible support for the professional development of staff who teach in HE. We will release resources covering ten broad topics, including assessment and feedback, designing and planning teaching sessions, e-learning, values in HE and quality management and enhancement. Guidance materials accompanying the resources will show how they map onto the UK Professional Standards Framework and will capture the experiences of educational developers and HE teachers who have used them.

Aims and Objectives

  • To develop and release open educational resources equivalent to 300 study hours
  • To develop and release guidance materials for potential users of the resources
  • To capture and disseminate the experiences of those who have used the resources

Anticipated outputs and outcomes

  • Ten “resource units” including support for both classroom-based and virtual learning
  • Audio commentaries with transcripts (user and developer experiences)
  • Written guidance about how the activities might be used in different contexts
  • Blog posts and progress reports
  • Reports and other publications
