Supporting academic integrity: approaches and resources for higher education
- Publication Date: 11-11-2010
The Academy JISC Academic Integrity Service has produced the publication Supporting academic integrity: approaches and resources for higher education for the higher education community, which will be of particular interest to lecturers, educational developers, student services managers or academic conduct officers who would like a better feel for the current issues relating to student plagiarism and associated concerns.
This guide is designed to provide ‘a bird’s-eye view’: to pull together key institutional approaches and resources that have been developed since 2000. Higher education institutions (HEIs) have developed approaches to promote student academic honesty using a range of strategies, and case studies and perspectives from a number of institutions highlight practice at the institution, programme and course level.
There are a wealth of resources relating to academic integrity including, guidance on designing assessment that can help minimise student plagiarism, and online tutorials for students on information literacy and academic writing. The guide provides a valuable up-to-date selection of these, encouraging the sharing of best practice in the area of academic integrity.
