Exploring the NSS: Assessment and Feedback Issues
- Publication Date: 14-02-2008
Due to the increasing focus on assessment and feedback as a result of the National Student Survey (NSS) the Academy commissioned research on longitudinal data from institutions' internal student surveys. This has provided interesting insights into what actions institutions have taken in response to students' less positive experience of feedback.
The report investigates the issue of feedback using two main types of data. Firstly, quantitative, from institutional surveys undertaken at eleven institutions, covering a period from 1994 to 2007. Secondly, qualitative, from documents that outline and detail action strategies used by individual institutions and interviews with key personnel.
