The National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS) has been one of the Higher Education Academy’s flagship activities over the past decade. As we celebrate its tenth anniversary, it is clear that it has had a major impact across the higher education sector.

Currently funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and the Department for Education and Learning in Northern Ireland (DELNI), the scheme celebrates excellence in teaching in our universities and colleges, and makes a crucial contribution to raising the status of teaching in higher education. From 2010/11, Wales will join the Scheme, funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW). As NTFS reaches its tenth birthday, this celebratory publication reflects on the scheme’s successes and reviews just how far we’ve come in a decade.
