It plans to appraise the literature and explore current practice, and produce information and "toolkits" for different audiences including employers, students, careers services, Higher Education Academy Subject Centres, educational development units, and heads of subject departments. A priority is to strengthen links with others committed to enhancing student employability.
Assessment methods Construction, Surveying & Real Estate education are diverse so as to allow all students to develop a range of knowledge and skills under differing circumstances. For example, whenever possible projects are often simulated or closely mirror the 'real' world so that students may apply their theoretical knowledge to practical problems. This approach ensures that the content and structure of the vocational built environment courses support effective education directed towards meeting the employability requirements of students entering professional practice.These are placed within the context of current developments within Higher Education where providers will be required to develop Personal Development Planning (PDP) with students by 2005-6. Progress files, and personal development planning provide students with a vehicle to certify claims to employability through self-reflection on their development of both personal qualities and discipline specific skills. As all of these skills are interchangeable between different activities and projects, students will be able to develop and utilise these employability aspects in the future.
