With ever increasing competition in the graduate job market, students today acknowledge that they need to be more than just the sum of their paper qualifications. A degree is not enough. Today's graduates need to provide evidence of practical, real and pro-active work experience if they are to be competitive. Having the initiative to lead projects and volunteer in your local community as a student, however, encourages the art of being proactive and reflective and enhances an individual's capacity for learning.
