This Engineering Subject Centre (LTSN Engineering) case study describes visual perceptual problems of a dyslexic person. Although people who do not have dyslexia may also experience this fizzing effect, it is one of a number of visual perceptual problems that dyslexic people experience frequently. The case study indicates some solutions for reducing the fizzing effect.
