Controversial resources for the ancient world may be defined very
loosely as modern texts in whatever medium that offer radical
revisionist histories or counter-narratives to conventional wisdom about antiquity.

 

Many such texts are produced from current partisan
viewpoints – religious, ethnic, or political – that are keen to enlist the
ancient world in order to validate a present position which otherwise
lacks historical support.
