This new initiative, launched by HEA Wales in the 2010-11 academic year, is aimed at encouraging the exchange and dissemination of good practice, at the discipline level, throughout the UK. It is specifically aimed at enabling staff and students in Welsh HEIs to engage with colleagues from other parts of the UK and to support their institution's priorities and developments in learning and teaching. The initiative supports the following strategic aims of the HEA[1]:
- Identify, develop and disseminate evidence-informed approaches;
- Broker and encourage the sharing of effective practice;
- Support universities and colleges in bringing about strategic change;
- Raise the status of teaching.
The funding may be used to help colleagues attend conferences, network meetings and special interest groups organised (or jointly organised) by the HEA and its Subject Centre network, that are being run in England, Scotland or Northern Ireland. Please note that funding may not be used for events that are being held in Wales or for events that are being held outside the UK.
Mae'r fenter newydd hon, a lawnsiwyd gan AAU Cymru yn ystod y flwyddyn academaidd 2010-11, wedi ei hanelu at annog cyfnewid a rhannu arferion da, ar lefel disgyblaeth, ledled y DU. Mae wedi cael ei hanelu'n benodol at alluogi staff a myfyrwyr mewn sefydliadau AU yng Nghymru i ymgysylltu â chydweithwyr o rannau eraill o'r DU a chynorthwyo blaenoriaethau a datblygiadau eu sefydliadau parthed â dysgu ac addysgu. Mae'r fenter yn gefnogol i amcanion strategol canlynol yr AAU[2]:
- Nodi, datblygu a rhannu dulliau sy'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth;
- Cydlynu ac annog rhannu arferion effeithiol;
- Cynnig cefnogaeth i brifysgolion a cholegau mewn creu newid strategol;
- Codi statws addysgu.
Gellir defnyddio arian o'r gronfa i helpu cydweithwyr i fynychu cynadleddau, cyfarfodydd rhwydweithio a grwpiau diddordeb arbennig a drefnir (neu a drefnir ar y cyd) gan yr AAU a'i rhwydwaith o Ganolfannau Pwnc sy'n cael eu rhedeg yn Lloegr, yr Alban neu yng Ngogledd Iwerddon. Dylech nodi na chaniateir i'r arian yma gael ei ddefnyddio ar gyfer digwyddiadau sy'n cael eu cynnal yng Nghymru nac ar gyfer digwyddiadau sy'n cael eu cynnal tu allan i'r DU.
