Change Academy

Economic and other pressures are ensuring that higher education is facing a challenging future. Change Academy (run in partnership with the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education) provides an opportunity to approach these challenges in an imaginative and creative way facilitating strategic change management.

Institutional strategic change has varied considerably in Welsh HEIs with projects focussed on:

  • "Building Bridges for Regeneration: negotiating language and culture change to support cross-School development in a ‘hothouse' environment of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial activity" (The University of Wales, Newport)
  • "Cultural change in approaches to student assessment" (University of Wales, Newport)
  • "The success of UWIC's vision for the future depends on nurturing dynamic culture which is open to change" (The University of Wales Institute Cardiff)
  • "An integrated approach to enhancing the postgraduate student experience" (Bangor University)
  • "Developing a mentoring strategy that employs digital technologies to engage staff in a critical conversational model and promote synergy between teaching, research and scholarship" (Glyndwr University)
