HEA announce Student Affairs and Technology blogger for Inside Higher Ed Eric Stoller as the first keynote speaker to be confirmed to speak at the 2017 HEA Annual Conference

Thursday, 8 December, 2016

Eric is a higher education thought-leader, consultant, writer, and speaker with an expertise in how educators can use social media for learning and engagement.

He will be speaking during the Conference in Manchester on the morning of the 5 July, which is day two of the HEA’s flagship event and is focused on strategic and thematic priorities in the sector.

As the Student Affairs and Technology blogger for Inside Higher Ed, Eric generates conversations, answers questions, and provides insight about a variety of “tech topics,” drawing on his background in student affairs, academic advising, wellness, technology, and communications. Through his blog, website, prolific social media presence and keynote speeches, he challenges conventional thinking on the future of HE and is a keen proponent for teaching students about digital identity development.

Eric’s passionate contribution to our collective understanding of and vision for a HE sector that fully embraces the opportunities that technology and social media offer is inspiring. His holistic, student-centric appreciation of education is particularly significant within the context of debates around teaching excellence.

We look forward to welcoming delegates to the 2017 HEA Annual Conference in Manchester in July for Eric’s keynote address and to join us for what promises to be a rich and thought-provoking three days.
