Higher Education Academy subscription and business model consultation

Thursday, 11 February, 2016

The Higher Education Academy (HEA) will work with Universities UK and GuildHE for a period of additional consultation with Vice-Chancellors about the HEA subscription and business model for 2016-17 onwards.  A new model is required from the start of the next academic year due to the end of direct central funding which previously subsidised HEA services.

The consultation is being led by Professor Rama Thirunamachandran, Chair of the HEA Board and Vice-Chancellor of Canterbury Christ Church University and Professor Janice Kay, Deputy Chair of the HEA Board who is also Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost of Exeter University.  They are working closely with HEA CEO, Professor Stephanie Marshall, Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow, President of UUK, and Nicola Dandridge, UUK’s CEO, and Professor Joy Carter, Chair of GuildHE and Gordon McKenzie, GuildHE’s CEO.

Following the consultation the HEA expect to share the revised offer with subscribers shortly after Easter to enable the new model to be brought in for the 2016-17 academic year.
