Award schemes now open to all UK higher education providers
The Higher Education Academy (HEA) is today announcing the launch of the 2018 National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS) and the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE). The awards celebrate the outstanding impact of the teaching of winning individuals and teams.
This year, for the first time, both awards will be open to all higher education providers from across the whole of the United Kingdom.
NTFS 2018 will be open for nominations on 12 February and CATE on 5 March. The closing date for both awards will be 30 April.
HEA Acting Chief Executive, Dr Mark Jones, said, “I am delighted to be launching the scheme for 2018. These awards showcase the outstanding impact of individuals and teams who teach in UK higher education. It’s really important to recognise their success and also to provide a platform to share the learning from their practice.”
“I am particularly pleased that all higher education providers from right across the UK are eligible to enter the schemes. I’m confident that the awards will be enriched by widening the eligibility for participation.”
There are now 815 National Teaching Fellows. Over the past two years, 30 teams have been selected as CATE finalists, with 12 of those selected as award winners.
