Flexible learning requires a balance of power between institutions and students, and seeks to find ways in which choice can be provided that is economically viable and appropriately manageable for institutions and students alike.

The Higher Education Academy Flexible Learning Community of Practice serves to connect it’s members who share a concern and a passion for developing and embedding flexible modes of teaching and learning to innovative best practices and thinking from across the disciplines and sector. Facilitated through a dynamic and collaborative process of knowledge exchange and enhancement in the form of discussion forums, webinars, as well as a face-to-face meetings and events, the Flexible Learning Community of Practice offers an exciting opportunity to actively shape contemporary practice and thinking in what is a decisive domain for HE.

HEA framework for flexible learning in higher education

Our framework for flexible learning in higher education is an integral part of the HEA frameWORKS series. Developed with the sector for the sector, the series covers key thematic priorities that impact upon the quality of teaching and learning in HE. HEA frameWORKS provide a shared point of reference and common language to shape and review policy, process and practice in order to enhance student success.
