As part of the HEA Scotland embedding equality and diversity in the curriculum (EEDC) strategic enhancement project, Robert Gordon University focused on staff development activities to facilitate staff capacity in EEDC, concentrating on moving beyond compliance. The project aimed to design a bespoke suite of workshops to raise awareness, interrogate current practice and influence curriculum developments. This programme, designed around a ThPTE (Think, Plan, Teach, Evaluate) model, orientated around the themes of fostering an inclusive ethos; promoting intercultural engagement; enabling a global learning environment; facilitating a global academic community; and embedding social responsibility.

This case study can be seen as a personal reflection on the part of the project lead, who offers insights into their project journey with recommendations to others working to develop programmes for the embedding of E&D in learning and teaching.
