For both staff and students, assessment is an important element in higher education. This book is a collection of case studies written by, and for, academic staff, showcasing experiences of learning through assessment in a variety of contexts.
It is the fourth in the 'enhancing' series of books, preceded by volumes which focused on employability, the international learning experience and student-centred learning. In the introduction Professor Mantz Yorke writes on 'Assessing emergent professional expertise'.
This book was commissioned by the Higher Education Academy Subject Centres for Business, Management, Accountancy and Finance (BMAF) and Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism (HLST).
Hosted by Oxford Brookes University, BMAF and HLST are two of the 24 national Subject Centres who work collaboratively to enhance the student learning experience and facilitate the sharing of good practice across the UK.
These case studies have also been published in a book, (The Enhancing Series - Learning through Assessment) commissioned by HLST and BMAF subject centres. The book is available by contacting email@example.com.
