The HEA is delighted to welcome Associate Professor Asmi Wood from the ANU College of Law as an HEA Principal Fellow. He is one of only five HEA Principal Fellows at ANU and joins a group of fewer than 1,000 PFs across the world.
Twenty-three staff at the University of Sydney have been awarded HEA Fellowships, including five Principal Fellowships, in recognition of their teaching success.
The University of Sydney’s Education Portfolio supported the applications, which included Fellowship writing workshops led remotely by Kathryn Harrison-Graves, Head of HEA Global Partnerships, as a pilot for the University to learn more about the application process and success rates, and gain feedback from staff on the process.
The Australian higher education sector has “clear opportunities” in promoting great teaching by working closely with the Higher Education Academy.
That’s the opinion of Professor Abby Cathcart of the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) who recently spent a week in the UK working with the HEA on devising a strategy for further engaging with the sector in Australasia.
Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand has become an HEA Strategic Partner.
AUT and the HEA have been working closely together over the last two years, and the University now has nearly 30 HEA Fellows at Fellowship and Senior Fellowship categories.
The University is working towards HEA accreditation of its staff development programme, aiming to complete their submission by 31 October. HEA Accreditation is a key benefit of the partnership.
