UCL is London's leading multidisciplinary university, with more than 11,000 staff and 38,000 students from 150 countries. Founded in 1826, UCL was the first university in England to welcome students of any class or religion, and the first to welcome women on equal terms with men. We attract an ethnically diverse and high attaining cohort of intellectually curious and creative undergraduates, around 44% joining us from outside the UK. They achieve strong results at the end of their programme of study, with a consistent 89% of undergraduates achieving a 1st class or 2:1 degree annually.
“Over the last few years we have developed a robust strategy centred on the Connected Curriculum, our framework for research-based education, on engaging with students as full partners, and on recognition and reward for staff. It’s great that our work to raise the status and quality of a UCL education is being recognised in this way.”
