Damian has worked within Ulster University since 1991 and is currently the Director of Employability and Marketing. During this time he has managed a number of internally and externally funded projects in the areas of marketing, employability, career development learning, work-based learning and personal development planning. He has been awarded two Ulster Distinguished Teaching Fellowship Team Awards. Damian is a member of the Association of Higher Education Careers Services (AHECS) in Ireland and has been Chair of the Association for a four year period. During his period as Chair he negotiated a commercial partnership with GTI Ireland and led the development of a wide range of innovative and technically mediated projects that have had a direct benefit to students, university careers services and graduate recruiters. Damian has severed on a number of ministerial panels and advisory groups in the area of employability and is currently a member of Department for the Economy’s Careers Forum in Northern Ireland. He is a qualified teacher and has taught in post-primary schools in Northern Ireland and at a science college in Nigeria.
