Dr Arshad Ahmad

Arshad is passionate about teaching and is the recipient of several Teaching awards from local and international universities including a lifetime 3M National Teaching Fellowship. Currently, he is Vice Provost, Teaching & Learning and Director of McMaster University’s MacPherson Institute. He is past president of The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, a national association of Canadian teachers and Vice-President of The International Consortium for Educational Development consisting of 24 member organizations worldwide.

Prior to joining McMaster, Arshad was Professor of Finance at Concordia University. In addition to his financial expertise, Arshad has a Ph.D in educational psychology with research interests in digital learning, teaching philosophies and pedagogical partnerships. He is currently Chair of Teaching and Learning Canada, a charitable organization whose goal is to promote and enhance the quality of teaching and learning in Canadian post-secondary education and a board member of Academics Without Borders.
