Dr Greta Bosch joined academia full time in 2002, teaching civil law and common law, as well as researching in human rights. She has always held a keen interest in internationalisation, promoting a diversified and varied teaching experience. She has received a number of merit awards for excellent teaching practice since 2010: Best provider of feedback in Law - Students’ Guild Awards 2010, Exeter Teaching Fellowship Awards 2011 and 2013, Senior Fellow of HEA 2012, Annual Merit Awards 2012, 2013, 2014, Exeter Above and Beyond Gold and Silver Awards 2015, 2015/16, 2017.
Impact of work
Greta has made a significant impact as an education leader in Law. Since 2002 she has developed an outstanding career trajectory in education with many leadership roles and strategic experiences. She has been Programme Director, International Officer, Admissions Director, International Summer School Lead (and founding member), Senior Personal Tutor for the College of Social Science and International Studies, and currently Senior Academic Misconduct Officer and Director of Assessment and Feedback. She is particularly proud of her achievements as Director of Education for the Law School,. Following a three year term of education leadership, through consultative leadership, she was able to build a successful community of practice over the three years.
Her external roles (national and international) and professional memberships include the Society of Legal Scholars (SLS). This Society, in its 116th year, is the largest society for law in the UK and Ireland with a membership of 3000. Members come from Europe, the USA and Canada, Asia, Russia and Africa. For the SLS, she is an Education Committee member and Comparative Law Section conference convenor. Greta is also an ERC external referee and external examiner at Southampton University. These appointments and memberships not only show national and international level esteem but also help her scholarly networking and dialogue.
Plans for the future
She consistently and effectively includes the student voice and student representation in her strategic leadership initiatives and is currently working collaboratively with student representation on a fresh assessment and feedback strategy for the College of Social Science and International Studies.
