Peter is a Chartered Psychologist, Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK. In 1998 he became a Senior Lecturer in Career Management at the University of Central Lancashire. He is known for his work on the internationally acclaimed CareerEDGE model of graduate employability and the Employability Development Profile (EDP) assessment tool, which has been used in many universities in the UK and elsewhere around the world. The model and the EDP have also been used in Chinese universities and Peter presented his work on Employability and Mental Toughness in a paper and workshop at the prestigious UK-China Symposium on Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education and Graduate Employability at Tsinghua University in Beijing in March 2016.
He has a wide experience of working not only with students and graduates in Higher Education, but also with executives, managers, entrepreneurs and creative professionals in business and the public sector. In 2011 he established LanHai Career Management Ltd., an award winning Career Management Company which provides business and higher education training, and consultancy services in the UK and China. Currently he also works as the Postgraduate Careers Adviser at the Lancaster University Management School.
