Dr Tashmin Khamis

Dr Tashmin Khamis is the founding Director of both the Aga Khan University’s Networks of Quality Assurance and Improvement (QAI_net) and Teaching and Learning (TL_net). Tashmin is also a Principal Fellow of the HEA and a member of HEA’s Quality Advisory Board. She is currently a Board Director of INQAAHE (The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education) and the immediate Past President of EAQAN (The East African Higher Education Quality Assurance Network) a Network of Higher Education Quality Assurance Practioners from 80 universities across the East African Community (EAC). In both these roles she has been involved in international assessment panels for proposals, presentations and awards on Higher Education Quality and the Schoalrship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). Tashmin holds a PhD in Nutritional Sciences (King’s Collage, London) and an MBA in Higher Education Management (University Collge London – Institute of Education).  Prior to joining AKU Tashmin  worked for over 20 years in academia, management and development settings in the UK and Europe, South and Central Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
