Janusz Janczukowicz is the Head of the Centre for Medical Education and the Chair of the Best Evidence Medical Education Collaborating Centre in Lodz.
His main professional interests include interprofessional education, teaching, learning and assessing medical and academic professionalism, social, and cultural competence. Janusz is a member of the International Association for Medical Education (AMEE) Executive and the Deputy Chair for the AMEE Research Committees. He leads the diversity-theme for the annual AMEE conferences and is serving as the liaison officer for developing cooperation between ADEE and AMEE. Janusz is the Chair of the Translation into Practice BEME Committee responsible for the Evidence Based Recommendations for Education, a project aimed at bringing the educational research results into the every-day health-professions teachers’ practice.
Janusz is a member of the European Board of Medical Assessors, an auditor for the Association of Medical Schools in Europe, an expert member of the European Institute of Women’s Health and the external expert for the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education. He designs and implements health-professions faculty development courses and undergraduate and postgraduate courses on professionalism. He is a member of the Medical Teacher Editorial Board, the editor of the ‘Professionalism and social competence’ section of Polish Postgraduate Medicine Journal and the editor and co-author of the first Polish book on medical professionalism. He is an assessor for the Research in Education Grants Network and the Research Program Planning Network of AMEE and a reviewer for Medical Teacher, Medical Education, Advances in Health Sciences Education and MedEdPublish Journal.
