Professor Philip Keeley commenced the role of Professor of Nursing and Head of Department of Health Sciences at the University of Huddersfield in June 2015 and has a wide experience of fulfilling leadership roles in higher education.
Phil is committed to excellence in teaching and learning and was awarded a National teaching Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in 2013. He has been a member of the Organising Committee for the International Networking for Healthcare Education Conference since 2010.
Phil is a Fellow of the European Academy of Nursing Science and has a strong interest in health services and pedagogical research. His health services research focuses on development and delivery of novel and accessible interventions for people with chronic pain. His pedagogical research includes evaluation of educational innovations, service user and carer engagement in educational provision and examining the impact of prior care experience on student nurse progression and retention.
Phil is committed to the promotion, recognition and reward of excellence in teaching and learning and the development of the next generation of health care clinical academics.
