Sara Parkin, OBE, is Founding Director of Forum for the Future, an independent non-profit (charity) that works globally with businesses, government and others to solve complex sustainability challenges.
Sara designed the Forum's popular Masters in Leadership for Sustainable Development. Her 2010 book The positive deviant is based on the course and many years of experience. She makes promoting ‘sustainability-literacy’ a priority.
Previously, she has been a nurse and served nationally and internationally in green politics (though no longer belongs to any political party). She has served on Boards of a wide range of organisations, including the Environment Agency of England and Wales, The Natural Environment Research Council and the European Training Foundation.
Sara was a founding Board member of the Leadership Foundation for HE and currently is chair of the Richard Sandbrook Trust, a Trustee of Forum for the Future and advises the NUS. She has been awarded an OBE for her services to education and sustainability.
