Overview
The NET conference is firmly established as the leading annual conference for networking in healthcare education. NET2017 is a unique opportunity to share innovation and the latest ideas and experiences with a wide range of colleagues from the UK and overseas. It is for everyone interested in debating the latest developments and thinking in healthcare education: educators, practitioners, researchers and students from all disciplines of the healthcare professions.
The NET conference philosophy is unique and sets it apart from other events. Highly experienced convenors facilitate in-depth and wide-ranging group discussions in time sessions with presenters and delegates contributing to the debate, sharing experiences and networking.
Key features of NET 2017 include:
- keynote papers from leading speakers;
- specially commissioned workshops;
- core papers and presentations within a number of themes;
- participation in theme sessions;
- a choice of leading-edge symposia;
- papers focusing on research, innovation and issues for debate;

- prizes for best poster, best first-time presenter and best pre-registration student abstract.
Proposal/session type options are:
- Interactive breakout sessions (30 minutes or 60 minutes);
- Oral presentations (20 minute presentation, 10 minute Q&A);
- Ignite sessions: (5 minutes);
- Workshop (60 minutes);
- Panel session (60 minutes);
- Poster presentation.
Preference will be given to sessions delivered in innovative and exciting ways that seek to engage, enliven and inspire.
All proposals should be submitted to annual.conference@heacademy.ac.uk on a completed submission form.

Conference structure and strands
Core and theme sessions fall under one of three categories: research; innovation; or issues for debate.
NET2017 conference themes are:

Abstracts are invited for the following sessions:
- Core paper presentations;
- Theme paper presentations;
- Symposia;
- Oral poster presentations.
Conference dates:
Tuesday 5 September and Wednesday 6 September 2017. Accommodation and evening meal will be available for delegates wishing to arrive ahead of the conference on Monday 4 September.
Registration and attendance at the conference
If your abstract is accepted you will be expected to register as a full paying delegate for the conference.
