The HEA works with HE organisations and their students to improve approaches to assessment and feedback, including emphasising the importance of assessment for learning. We also advise on institutional strategy, policy and practice.
Our publication A marked improvement sets out a strong rationale for transforming assessment in HE and provides an assessment review tool for taking stock of current practice and making a targeted approach to strategic change.
We also advise on academic integrity issues and educational strategies that can be used to address student plagiarism and related forms of unacceptable academic practice.
The HEA is facilitating a national discussion on the use of a Grade Point Average (GPA) system as a possible addition, or alternative, to the honours degree classification system in UK HE.
